There are two different types of categories in the Service route –
- Implicit
- Explicit
1. Service Implicit SMS:
Informative SMS other than OTP will come into the type of service Implicit route. Using this route, important messages regarding products and services such as purchase consent messages, order status, alerts, reminder SMS, etc., can be communicated to the customers. Promotional SMS cannot be shared using the Service Implicit route.

2. Service Explicit SMS:

For example, If an SBI Bank customer has approved to receive promotional offers from SBI, these SMS comes under the Explicit Service category. If the customer withdraws and opt-out of obtaining these texts at any point in time, then the SMS will be contemplated Promotional.
